The Singapore Prize is an award that recognises outstanding published works by Singaporean authors. It is a biennial award, with prizes of $10,000 awarded to the winners in 12 categories. The Prize is supported by the National Arts Council, the National Book Development Council of Singapore, and the National Library Board of Singapore.

In addition to the top prize, the Prize offers a one-off $20,000 prize to a first-year undergraduate student and a SGD$3,000 prize for a top law student in Shipping and Admiralty Law. The prize is sponsored by Yong Pung How School of Law and the Singapore Management University.

The Singapore Literature Prize is a biennial award that honours works in four languages. The prize is organized by the National Book Development Council of Singapore, and supported by the National Arts Council and the National Library Board of Singapore. To qualify for the prize, works must be published in any of the four official languages. This year, there were 43 writers who submitted to the Prize. However, more than half of the shortlisted writers were first-time applicants.

The winner will receive a gold medallion, as well as a cash prize of $300,000. A certificate will be awarded as well. The Prize is named after the city’s first Prime Minister, Lee Kwan Yew, who helped to build the country into a green garden city.

In Birmingham 2022, Singaporean athletes sent 66 athletes to compete in the Games, with the highest number of personal bests ever set in a single event. Singapore also broke five Games records. These included the highest number of golds by an individual athlete, and the highest number of personal bests in a single event. Additionally, Singapore broke the record for most gold medals in a single event.

The Major Games Award Programme (MAP) awards were held at the Singapore Athletics Association (SAA) on September 14. There were awards to 68 sportsmen and women. Among the recipients was table tennis star Feng Tianwei, who won three gold medals in the Table Tennis competition. He also won the David Dixon Award, and was recognised as the most outstanding athlete in the event.

Singaporean athletes were also recognized for their performances in the Southeast Asian Games. Joseph Schooling, who won two gold medals, was absent from the appreciation dinner. However, he was given prize money for his performances at the SEA Games.

For the Commonwealth Games, a gold medal was worth S$40,000 in the individual event, and S$60,000 in a team event. However, athletes must also give at least 20% of their winnings to the respective National Federations.

Singaporean swimmers were also recognised, with a total of eight national records broken. Singaporean swimmers also took home prize money under the MAP, with each medallist receiving a monetary bonus.

While the majority of winners are from the English language, there were also winners from other languages. For example, Tamil writer rma cureeeess won two awards. Similarly, a 91-year-old Indonesian swimmer Suratman Markasan earned a monetary bonus.
